An Invitation to Love Everyday Banking

Before establishing alphaform, as it’s creative heads, we were ambitious individuals who had joined one of the biggest banks in Turkey to help them establish their first internal design studio. As part of the bank, we have established the first design studio of Akbank, and we wanted to bring a new soul to Akbank mobile.

We wanted to make Akbank customers love everyday banking.

Therefore, we’ve started to reimagine and design all digital channels of Akbank. Akbank Mobile is one of the pillars of this process. After all the studies the team went through, we have been thinking about how to make banking smart, social, future-proof and rewarding. In consequence, we designed Akbank Mobile. With our product’s personalisation and recommendations, a mobile banking experience has never been so clean and intuitive.

Akbank Mobile provides a new perspective on traditional banking which now speaks the users’ language with contact thumbnails, simplified actions, phrases, and concepts that are familiar to the user rather than system-oriented terms. Its strength is the human-first approach to building empathy and trust. With its personalised area on the main page, the users can view smart insights to ease their financial life. Also, the users will save time with the AI that thinks in users’ stead.

Normally the communication of users and the bank was mostly composed of one-way interactions. We wanted to create a two-way communication and make it free from financial terms. We created a Communication Area on our dashboard.

This is an area where our AI engine gives smart insights to the user to reduce stress, help them make more of what they have.Here, users are also sharing their feedbacks and needs with the bank. So it is a unique place for valuable two-way conversations.

We knew it as a success, when we saw the twitter posts of users sharing their personalised conversations with the bank.
